We collect nothing.

Last updated — June 25, 2026

daub does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. There are no analytics, no crash reporters, no telemetry, and no third-party SDKs that phone home. We have no idea who you are, and that's exactly how it should be.

Everything you type in daub is saved as a temporary .txt file on your machine, and only for as long as there is text in it. The moment you clear the canvas — with ⌘K or by deleting all content — the file is deleted automatically. Nothing persists.

Apart from license validation (see below), daub makes no network requests. Your notes, secrets, clipboard, and screenshots never leave your device. There are no servers, no accounts, and no cloud sync — by design.

daub's license is powered by Keylight, a third-party licensing service. To activate, validate, and deactivate your license, daub contacts Keylight — the only network requests the app makes. These requests carry your hashed license key and a device instance ID; no personal data, and none of your notes or other content, is ever transmitted. Validation is offline-first: daub caches a signed lease, so it does not need to reach the network on every launch.

daub requires no sign-up, no email, and no account of any kind. You download it, you use it.
